This is news! A couple of days there was nothing there. So basicaly Toho will be producing THREE Frank Wildhorn shows in the coming future: Jekyll & Hyde, Camille Claudel and Rudolf.

I just hope this time Toho releases a Cast CD. I'm still mad the original Hungarian production (by far the best one to date) didn't produced one.

I just don't think they should put the "based on A Nervous Splendour"...because the show isn't based in the the book AT ALL. There's not a single piece of the show that is in the book. Not one. Unlike the TV series in which the show is heavily based.
So at best it should be "inspired by" and not "based on"

No. They already staged the show in 2003. There's also a Cast Album released on the production ;)

The staging will be based on the version seen in Vienna, with David Leveaux (who helmed that production in 2009) directing.

TERRIBLE idea. Did no one told them the Vienna version was a flop?
The worst part is, they already staged the better version when it played there a couple of years ago...why re-stage it and use a butchered mediocre version instead? Jesus Christ... <_<

It's probably the VBW who doesn't allow the original version to be staged. It becomes a matter of silly pride. I bet they haven't swallowed yet the fact that an Hungarian version of a show was more successful than a Viennese one. Even though the same happened with Presgurvic's Romeo & Juliette...

Rudolf 2012 in Tokyo opened.

Much, much more marvelous than the original Tokyo stage!
