Yes, I have his album. His "Nessun Dorma", "Time to Say Goodbye" and "You Raise me up" are beyond descriptions of magnificence.

No doubt Paul Potts has SOME natural talent, but he has very little training. That means he has no concept for foreign language diction or proper singing technique (singing Puccini arias like Nessun Dorma on a regular basis without training is a death wish on your vocal cords).

The guy has gotten way too much attention for singing a few songs. Apparently he's done some amateur opera, but I still don't think he could survive in any major opera houses.

If you want talent, try to find some recordings of Jussi Björling. He's one of the greatest tenors who ever lived in my opinion. Here's his "Nessun Dorma": http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bUbA5y1hnFg

That's my two cents.

I'm not too familiar with him, but I like what I heard on the link.

Juan Diego Florez is another tenor that is very popular internationally right now. He's most well known for singing "Pour Mon Ame - Ah Mes Amis"-- an aria with 9 high C's throughout. Pretty impressive

Oh yeah, there are many of Paul's kind far greater, but the context in which Paul was introduced was...wow. A similar incident took place, down here, when Anthony Callea sang "The Prayer" on Australian Idol. I thought that was tremendous too. There are better versions of the songs that Paul did but I still find them tremendous.
