If you're like me and don't really want to buy Yoshio Inoue's entire CD just for "The Steps of Tomorrow" from the Tokyo production of Rudolf, you can LEGALLY buy/download the track from VictorMusic here:

http://vmd.jvcmusic.co.jp/-/TrackDownload/VIZL-279/10.html

The site is in Japanese, but follow these steps to buy:

- First click the pink "WMA" button
- On the next page, Enter your email address in BOTH of the boxes then click the first button to the LEFT of "WebMoney"
- On the next page, enter your credit/debit card number in the first box, the expiration date in the second box, and your name as it appears on your card in the third box
- You should then be able to download the song.

I know this may seem a little confusing, but I can't read Japanese at all and I was able to figure it out (using an online translator). Also note that the song will be in protected WMA (Windows Media Audio) format, so you can only play it on YOUR computer (unless you convert it).

Contact me if you have any questions. I also made this album cover for the track using the Tokyo poster:

Hi,

Congratulations for your success of downloading the song after all such efforts!
I may add, if there are some people who want to buy the entire new CD of Yoshio Inoue, it is also available at SoundOfMusic.de.
Iit will be much easier for most of you as the page is written in German / English.

I should also add that the song "Steps of Tommorow" in the CD is quite different from the same song sung by Yoshio Inoue on the stage.
The recording was made more than one month before the opening day of the Tokyo "Rudolf", and the song in the CD is also arranged.
I like both, but honestly, I love this song Yoshio sang on the stage much, much more, as he sang as Rudolf, who finally made decision to take action for his ideals and declare his ideas enthusiastically before Vienna citizens for the first time.
The song was marvelous and very impressing!

Anyway, the CD contains 10 songs from various musicals and you may enjoy other songs, too.

Hi Kumiko,

Thanks for the info! Do you know if any other recordings were made from the Toky production besides "Steps of Tomorrow"?

As long as I know, there is no other recording from the Tokyo production.
As you know, there is a DVD which contains Yoka Wao's songs (a Takarazuka star and now an actress) "The Steps of Tomorrow" and "I Was Born To Love You", but she never played the role.

If "Rudolf" ever come back to Tokyo in the near future and I sincerely hope so,
then a live or studio recording CD may be released.

As Yoshio Inoue is a singer as well as an actor, he may include some songs from "Rudolf" in his future concert (which is usually released as a DVD or broadcasted on TV.)
Several short scenes and parts of the songs from the Tokyo production was broadcasted on TV programs.

If I catch some news in Japan, I"ll update you.
