Yes folks, I've got some good news to share from Vienna.

VBW (the Viennese producers of the show) have just announced that the German-language premiere of Rudolf will open at the Raimund Theater in late February 2009.

They will be holding auditions in Vienna, Cologne and Hamburg, in January and February 2008.

This is the most definite mention yet, of things happening in Vienna, so hopefully they really are going to get started now. More as I have it.
