Title: New German-language recording
Description: From the Felsenbühne Staatz production

Juggler - August 26, 2005 04:04 PM (GMT)
I have just learned of a brand new German-language recording of Jekyll! This comes from the cast of Felsenbühne Staatz which recently presented the show in Staatz, Austria.

There are even two songs on it that are recorded for the first time in German: Fern Und Im Dunkeln (Lost In The Darkness) and Loslassen (Letting Go).

I have posted full details on the album at:
http://jekyll-hyde.com/showinfo/recordings.shtml

And it can be purchased from several locations, including:
http://www.felsenbuehne-staatz.at/
http://www.soundofmusic-shop.de/ and
http://footlight.com/product.cfm?product_id=33414

Best,
Peter

Do you know if amazon.com will have it eventually?

Juggler - August 27, 2005 11:07 PM (GMT)
They might, but I don't have any definite information on that. In my experience, when it comes to purchasing imports to the US, Footlight gives better prices than Amazon.com.

Okay, thanks for the info!

You could also try www.soundofmusic.de

There, you can swap the language from German to English. They ship abroad, but I am not sure about the costs.

Birgit

I have ordered from soundofmusic.de before. I emailed them to see if I could pay via Paypal, and they said I could even though they don't usually do that, which was nice :-) I can't recall having any problems with the shipping price. Although the £ - Euro exchange rate was quite good at that time. lol!

Is this one worth getting?

I really want this one.

Honestly? It's not worth it. The Cast is not that great and if you're looking for german versions of songs not in the Bremen CD, I advise you to get the Vienna Cast Recording. This one is really only for completists IMO... ;)

Is the Orchestra good at least? How good is the Confrontation? My favrite song is the Confrontation (see my sig), so alot of the time, I judge a recording by how good they do it.

Fantasma da Opera - July 11, 2008 11:47 AM (GMT)
The orchester is not that big, specially if you compare it with the Vienna Cast wich has the Orchester der VBW wich has almost 40 pieces.
"Confrontation" is a bit weak in recording, just like its all the other songs. Werner Auer is far from beeing the best Jekyll/Hyde.

Some good news is that my Bremen CD should be coming in the next few days!

I don't like Staatz recording because it whole sounds like dance music. It is very odd.

Eddie Hyde - December 19, 2008 10:11 PM (GMT)
To me, the Madrid CD sounds like dance music.
