I thought I would ask here what about the production of "Cyrano"? Haven't heard anything about that myself since 2003. Do any of you know anything about this production?
And I haven't gone over the Frank Wildhorn's site to see about it. :D Everyone here seems to be so informed on things I thought I would just ask here.
Thanks,

Things have been rather quiet on Cyrano... we're still in "wait and see" mode, until something starts to happen. Bill Kenwright is working on production plans. GlobalVision is working on a concept album. Nothing has been announced in a while.

I really hope this one still premieres in London, I mean, Frank's never had a show play there, let alone premiere there! And Bill Kenwright is an important guy, everytime I see him on the "Joseph" reality show I think about Cyrano... :P

The Cyrano score is very impressive with some hauntingly beautiful numbers. Douglas Sills, Robert Evan and Linda Eder are perfectly suited for the music they sing. I don't think it gets any better than this.
Oddly, as the Dracula score reminded me of "Jekyll with fangs"...Cyrano has many similiar songs and writing styles of Scarlet Pimpernel. I've rarely have a problem with Mr. Wildhorn's scores or his amazing ability to get some of the best singers that do it justice. But too often some shows are missing the right ingredients.
One of the most enjoyable evenings I've had was when Frank got behind the piano and brought in some of his great favorite performers and did an evening of Music of Frank Wildhorn about 2 years ago.

As far as the Cyrano Concept Recording goes, it's hard to expect much from GlobalVision. After their release of Jekyll & Hyde: Resurrection last summer the company has failed to provide updates on future projects. Dracula has been finished for years now and has yet to see the light of day commercially or even get a release date.
I don't mean to be extremely harsh, but GlobalVision really has become a joke.

I was looking forward to this very much. Especially since Douglas Sills was mentioned. His voice is very enjoyable to listen to on the "Pimpernel" cast CD.
Plus, Linda Eder! She's great, too.
