Title: Tarzan
Description: Tarzan Musical

This is way off topic of Frank Wilhorn productions, but I figure I would ask here.

I will be going to New York soon and am wondering if any of you have seen the production "Tarzan" on Broadway and to get your opinion if it is worth seeing.

I would appreciate any responses.

Thanks, :)

Don't waste your money.

If you want to see Disney, go to Mary Poppins.

Yes, I haven't seen it, but Tarzan doesn't sound too good, LOL.

:o I just haven't heard anything about it other then the fact it has been on Broadway almost one year.

We do have tickets to "Mary Poppins" and other shows.

Thanks,

I'm not a big Tarzan fan...BUT you might want to wait until Spring to see it...because ...someone ...really ...cool ...will be taking over the role of Kerchek ...

Sorry...I don't have permission to share this yet ,,,but a few people here will be happy.

Interesting. Now I want to know who? :D

I will be in NYC the first week in April, so will the new person be on that week? ;)

He should be. He starts rehearsals early March.

ashtonu - February 11, 2007 03:14 AM (GMT)
Hmmmmm, maybe you SHOULD see Tarzan then..... :)

For some reason I had a dream it was Linda

Another bizzare dream from you, Ryan. Or was it a nightmare? :D

I just hope the show stays open through summer so that people can come and enjoy him. Tarzan opened in March '06 so...it's anyone's guess as to the shelf life of this one. Remember, Disney is opening Little Mermaid supposedly in the Fall. Casting rumors are flying on this one too.

That will make, Lion King, Mary Poppins, Tarzan, Little Mermaid and Beauty & The Beast (which closes in July)...Am I missing any? Geez... Does this mean they'll bring the auto- animatronics to play some of roles?

rockfenris2005 - February 11, 2007 06:21 PM (GMT)
A little O/T, but I just saw the logo for Little Mermaid. Not HAPPY. AT. ALL.

pati b - February 12, 2007 02:27 AM (GMT)
yeah, it's pretty generic...but so is Lion King and AIDA was also. Guess Disney saves it creativity for what goes on inside the theater not outside.

Benniek - February 12, 2007 02:55 PM (GMT)
Can you tell me when they will make the announcement for the man being in "Tarzan"???? :D

I have e-mailed several people and none of them have seen this production. Don't know what to think. I guess I can wait until I find who who is going to now be in it...... If it isn't too much longer. Want to get my tickets before I leave for NYC. LOL

I was holding out until it was official. Congrats. to Rob, ya lovable big ape!

Woah! That's pretty cool! I'd love to see him do it!

Benniek - February 22, 2007 10:56 PM (GMT)
:D I saw it on Broadwayworld.com. I don't know who Rob Evans is since I haven't seen Jykell and Hyde or Les Mis.... I did see Little Shop of Horrors with my favorite Douglas Sills. Found out that Rob took his place in that production.

I was hoping it would be Douglas Sills...LOL

I did get my tickets for "Tarzan" and I sure hope I do enjoy it. And I will be seeing Rob Evans in it.

Thanks.

So, what's happening with "The Dream Engine" ??

Benniek - April 12, 2007 06:09 PM (GMT)
I got back from NYC a few days ago. I have to say I enjoyed "Tarzan". Rob Evans was very good in his roll of Tarzan's Ape Father.

Mary Poppins was incredible. I really enjoyed that one.
