I am testing out a new registration system for these boards. The old registration system is still linked from every page of this site, but it has been shut down (so you may find a page that tells you that registrations aren't being accepted).

There is a new registration system, also linked from every page of this site (the line that says "The main registration system for these boards has been disabled. To register for an account, click here.") That's the place to go if you want an account, and registrations are being accepted there.

This new system is a response to the high number of junk accounts being registered here lately, mostly by bots. I might need to make a few adjustments to the system as time goes on, but I will post about any changes to the registration procedure in this thread, so you can always come back here to see what the latest details are supposed to be.

I have cleared all partial registrations from the system at this time (5 PM Eastern US on 6 January 2007). To anyone who was in the middle of a registration (i.e. you had submitted a registration but not yet validated the account), you will need to start over with the new registration system. I am sorry for the inconvenience, but it was a necessary step in this process.

If anyone encounters difficulty with the new registration process, you can write to me at peter (at) williamswebdesign (.) com - please put "WildhornFans.net Registration" in the subject line.

InvisionFree (our host) has set up some new spam controls for their registration process. I am therefore switching back to the default registration setup, at least temporarily until I can see how well it works.

If you are trying to register for an account, you should see a link near the top of every page, below the banner ad, that says "Welcome Guest ( Log In | Register )" That's the place to click to register an account now.

I'll post updates if there are any other changes.
