Title: Dracula in Graz, Austria

Juggler - November 16, 2006 05:32 PM (GMT)
Hi folks,
I have just posted some new details on Frank's website about the Austrian premiere of Dracula, which will take place next August.

The staging will be directed by Andreas Gergen (from Schlossparktheater in Berlin), with musical direction by Koen Schoots (Frank's European Musical Supervisor) and choreography by Michael Reardon (Rudolf - The Last Kiss in Budapest).

The show is part of The Musical Festival Graz, which is a new, annual festival taking place at The Schlossberg ("castle mountain"). The main stage - where Dracula will play - is in the prison section of a mountain-top, 14th century castle. The 1,000 seat open-air venue can be covered in minutes in the case of rain. A second stage is located in a cavern inside the mountain itself. For more information on The Schlossberg, see the Graz Tourism Website.

According to legend, the devil himself created the mountain... quite fitting for Dracula, isn't it?

Best,
Peter

One more tidbit - I have learned that there will be a preview performance on 8 August. I haven't seen tickets go on sale for this, but I presume it will also be at 8:30 pm. 9 August is the official premiere.
