Title: David Hasselhoff DVD being re-released

Just found this on Amazon:

It seems that in November the David Hasselhoff DVD will be re-issued by Image. Of course it has different cover art, but I wonder if it has any additional special features? Probably not. I wish someone would release the elusive "other" pro-shot video, with Rob Evan.

Oh, gag me. Isn't once enough? Yes, Rob Evan needs a video, not the Hoff Monster. As much as I LOOOVE the show, I won't be buying this. Never wanted to, stilll don't.

I've just written to Image Entertainment to see what they can tell me about this new release. I'll share what I learn.

Meanwhile, I have a question or two for anyone with the original release of the DVD (I don't have a copy yet, and now I suppose I'll have to pick which one of them to get).

I seem to recall hearing that the DVD doesn't have chapter markers - is that true?

Amazon indicates that the special features (again, I'm talking about the first release here) are: an introduction and backstage interview with David Hasselhoff, and cast biographies. Are these really on there? Were there any other special features on that release?

Best,
Peter

My question is will any of the DVD releases ever be released in the uk?

Just watched the DVD for the first time.

To answer your questions, Juggler, Amazon is right. There is a 'show prelude' with The Hoff (Basically a backstage interview with him), Cast Biogs and a Trailer for the DVD. There are Chapter Markers, but they seem to have been done by someone who doesn't know the show, they don't cut scenes from song to song, but somewhat more randomly if you ask me...:S

Very much hated the Hoff, but didn't expect anything less. Though I applaud the gorgeous Coleen Sexton who has quickly become my favourite Lucy. She plays her with a naivity and vulnerability that I think some other actresses overlooked. This may be to do with Coleen's age (I believe she was only just 20 when she took on the role, but forgive me if I'm wrong). Andrea Rivette is also impressive as Emma.

LOL, what bugged me about the chapter marks is they're referral to "Someone Like ME" <_<

Now that older shows are being restaured and released in Blu-Ray format...does anyone know if J&H will be released also in Blu-Ray?

(I recall it being promoted as filmed in high definition...?)

I own this DVD & I do not think it needs to be re-released in Blu-Ray, to me it is fine in it's DVD format. I like the DVD, glad I bought it.

Well so do I, but on a large plasma screen the image gets less good. That's why I would like to get it on Blu-Ray ;)

Yeah my screen is only 20 inches so it doesn't really matter to me (I do not own a TV I play my DVDs on my computer), but for those who have a large screen I guess a blu-ray edition would be nice :)
