Title: New pages for the website
Description: detailing the history of the show

Juggler - August 5, 2006 05:41 PM (GMT)
For many years, one of the things that has been missing on the official Pimpernel website is a detailed account of the history of the show. What are the different versions of the show? Why were the changes made? What actually changed when?

I have finally gotten around to working on this, and I have just set up six new preview pages on the website. These aren't linked from the site yet, but they're there. I wanted to give the League the first chance to take a look at these new pages, and also a chance to provide feedback before I finish adding them to the website.

If you are an "old-time" fan who was around during these changes, take a look and let me know if I have missed any important facts, or if I've mixed anything up.

If you are a newer fan, let me know if anything on these pages doesn't make sense or doesn't fully answer questions that you may have.

I welcome any and all feedback about this, either here on the board or by e-mail (broadway at city-net dot com). I want these pages to be the best they can possibly be.

To see them, start at http://thepimpernel.com/html/history2.shtml

The links for SP1, "changes between SP1 and SP2", SP2, SP3 and SP4 will take you through the history in sequence, and these are the new pages.

The links for the cast lists and song lists will go to other pages that already exist on the website. You'll need to use your browser's Back button to return to the new history pages from those.

Enjoy! And let me know what you think. :)

Best,
Peter

The history section looks great, Peter. It's very thorough and brings back a lot of memories.

I just went and read the history section for SP and it was very informative. I never saw the Broadway productions, but I have all the CD records and I found it very interesting to see the changes from each production.

Thanks for adding this to the SP website.

A belated thanks for the feedback on this. And a follow-up... I've just officially opened the History section on the Pimpernel website. It's now completely cross-linked with other pages on the site. It's a relief to finally have this posted.

Best,
Peter
