Description: your opinions on the changes

I personally perfer the longer verison of Alive! with the small cut of it for the end of the 1st act. The high note at the end makes the song feel more sinister.

Yes, I felt that the broadway staging was an EDITED version of this great show. I liked it, but it simply lacked alot of the moments that made this a great show.

ALIVE is a perfect example of this. I LOVE ALive being all together, and I love the reprise at the end the way it is done in the tour version. I find it SO strange that in every version of Jekyll and Hyde, ALIVE is done this way...except for the broadway one. What gives?

I love the LONG version of alive, preferably Anthony Warlows. I just love the evilness :).... Have you guys ever heard David Weitzer's version? They have the dialogue in the middle and it is great

I adore the long version of Alive, especially the Walow one, i love the growl and the dialogue in the middle. Although Bob Cucciloi does do a good short one, he's the only Hyde I've seen that runs his hands up his body  Paul Nicholas' was too fast tho, it annoyed me somewhat <_<

I absolutely adore the Anthony Warlow one - but my parents don't approve of my listening to it.

Perplexing.

Alive has always been my favorite number, even before I saw the show, and even when I had only heard Bob Cuccioli's version...

I like the long one with the dialogue with Lucy in it.

It's a creepy number. There's something really disturbing about the transformation (I suppose if it's done well)... but I love it.

:DI agree i think that the longer alive seems more sinister and evil

The Warlow Alive! is truly creepy.

But what is all that dialogue about? It sounds like stuff he would say in The Death of Lucy scene. I've never been able to picture (and, honestly, I don't want to) what goes on in that whole sequence: dialogue, creepy music, pounding hearts etc.

Definitely the longer version of Alive! Personally I think the short one lacks the power the longer one has. It's just a great song which I can't believe was cut down to one minute in the Broadway (despite there being a reprise later). I see it as one of the highlights of the show. Also I love Warlow's high note at the end!
