Title: Brad Little
wolfwynd - March 1, 2006 01:26 AM (GMT)
Am I the only one who thinks this guy is fantastic? Am I the only one whos ever heard of this guy? His Alive and Alive (Reprise) are the best I've ever seen; when he becomes Hyde he really becomes Hyde; he nails his actions, his mannerisms, his voice - he is just Hyde...

Nope. Brad is both my hero and theater friend, not to mention an amasing singer/actor. I had the joy of watching him play Phantom and J&H and many roles in between. There's not too many roles this guy can't play.
His Jekyll/Hyde was to die for at the Gateway Theater, Long Island. NY A stunning Jekyll and creepy Hyde, both beautifully sung and acted. His Dangerous Game was the best I've seen staged in ANY production. Somewhere on his website is an interview we did on a backstep late into the night.
http://www.bradlittle.com Meantime it's noteworthy to mention that he and Rob Evan J/H are long time pals. I had an earlier opportunity to sit down with both of them for a very informal interview. That one I found ! Here's the link:

A thread about Brad?! *revives it*
Nope I've heard of him, in fact he's in my avatar now. ;) Love his Phantom. Although I haven't heard/seen his Jekyll and Hyde before, but now I'm interested... :ph43r:

Does anyone know where I could find some sound clips or video clips of him in J&H? I'm curious about how he sounds as Jekyll and Hyde.

wolfwynd, did you see him live in J&H? If so, can you tell me what he did to Lucy during "Alive/Alive Reprise"? I could hear her crying out in the background of the song. And what went on during "Dangerous Game"?
BTW, I absolutley adore how his Hyde says "A toast to the night..." It's chilling! :)
ashtonu - April 6, 2006 05:47 AM (GMT)
In the production I saw, during "Alive," Hyde sees Lucy standing there "and you will pay dear, my dear..." and comes up behind her. He picks her up "So what's your name then, sweetheart?" and carries her away to an alley. All you could see were they're shadows on the walls, and they're doing they're thing when suddenly Lucy starts screaming and Hyde starts laughing; you could see the shadow of his cane going up and down as he beats her. She escapes and runs away... It was very well done, and really eerie! :D

In Alive she attempts to seduce him, kneeling downwards infront of him. He looks at her for a few moments and then drags her up by her hair sharply (Stop! You're hurting me), she attempts to get away from him but he goes after her, grabbing her skirt and pulling her towards him. She breaks free (or more likely he let her go) and then climbs up the scaffold the other way from her and she thinks shes got away. She takes a deep breath only to have him come out of the shadows and grab her by the neck, he strangles her until she falls to the ground and he laughs loudly and positions himself ontop of her.
In Dangerous Game...well... it doesn't pull any punches, its hard to describe though... All I know is you need a cigarette afterwards!
I love Hyde's hiss as she kisses his neck - it makes me shiver.

That sounds AWESOME! If only I could have been there to see the performance...
In the production I saw "Dangerous Game" was pulled off well too... the whole song was performed with Hyde and Lucy in bed together... Very intense. :)

Let me help you with Brad's Dangerous Game, m'dears.
WARNING: ADULTS 18+. Not responsible for any damages that occur.
The seduction takes place in Lucy's bedroom. Lucy is seated on a chair facing the audience. Hyde enters and begins caressing her hair, neck. She stiffens a bit. His grip around her throat gets tighter then he releases his grip. He makes his way around to the front of her where he kneels down at her knees, working his hands up her legs kinda like the chicken game we used to play as teens ( at least the boys trieds it with me, but only got knee high, thankfully I was a good girl )
Back to DG. While this gets pretty hot, Lucy struggles to get up only to have him lure her onto the bed. He forces her to a kneeling up position and he kneels behind her, holding her hands in front of her and accross her chest. There's a lot of bump and grind going on. Finally he forces her to face him, lays her down and lowers himself upon her ....then....well the lights go dark and the song ends.....
So what did you have for dinner last night, folks

Thanks! I just made it yesterday. :D
And thanks to you, Pati, for clearing up the "secrets" of Brad's "Dangerous Game". What I wouldn't give to see him live! He sounds astounding!
Where/when was he in J&H, and for how long? Is there and any chance of him playing the role again sometime? :)
pati b - April 7, 2006 07:22 PM (GMT)
Brad played J/H at The Patchogue Theater in Patchogue on Long Island, NY ...summer '01 I did a review and interview for him...but can't find the link.
Anyway...here's a few photos. ( Click on 2000's season. J&H is listed among the shows)

On an off chance, I dug around in the stack of files I got from the old
Jekyll website (stuff I still haven't put back up on the new one). And I found your interview! I just put it back up...
http://Jekyll-Hyde.com/misc/bradlittle.shtmlI think I have another interview you did with both Brad and Rob Evan. I can try to prep that and post it soon.
Best,
Peter

YIKES. You found it! Never know where Hyde hides things. Gee, thanks a lot for posting it. Brings back memories.
Best,
Pati

Does anyone know if there was a DVD or video recording of the entire show he was in?
ashtonu - May 10, 2006 08:49 PM (GMT)
Yes, I would meet Hyde in a dark alley at night in order to see one. :D

I second that. I'm dying to see what his Alive looked like.

Count me as another Brad fan! I got to see clips of him in J&H on YouTube, before they were removed... *grumble* Wish someone would upload them again.
I also adore him in Phantom of the Opera, and as Javert in Les Mis (despite the not-so-great costume he had to wear in LM). Wonder if he'd be willing to do J&H again?

is there anyone who can give/find the clips of Brad doing Dangerous game or Alive last i saw them was on Youtube but that was years ago. can someone help me?
