Title: J&H Returning to Broadway?
Description: According to...well Twitter speculation

Thought people might find this interesting, as was posted on Broadwayworld:
http://twitter.com/BroadwayGirlNYC/status/22046163731"Did you know that "Jekkyl and Hyde" is coming back to Broadway? You'll hear details soon, but mark my words."
I wouldn't be opposed =).
Perhaps this will be part of a new Wildhorn hat trick on Broadway - Wonderland (definite this season), Bonnie & Clyde (most the press seemed to think this was also bound this season), and J & H revival.

It would be cool indeed! Although I think they should probably use the German script which is apparently the one with the best results so far...and NO Hasselhoff...anyone but him!
As for me...I keep thinking The Scarlet Pimpernel should return with the final version of the script (aka the Tour one, with the hidding place in the Theater). B'way needs Douglas Sills!!! :D Not to mention it's more "light" than J&H and apparently B'way is now more in the mood for light shows than Gothic Musicals...

Fantasma I agree that SP would be a better option for Broadway at the moment, though I also would love to see revivals of J&H & Dracula but using different scripts for those shows then their previous Broadway scripts.

I had seen that at bww today. Very excited. It going on tour first I think is a great idea. Will generate interest (which there still is a lot out there for the show) and then open next season which is good idea considering the high profile revivals opening this year. ;)

A return of Jekyll & Hyde may be good in a season where other dark shows are also running like Rebecca and Ghost.
HOWEVER I pray to God that they use the german version of the script and don't go around making things up again and changing the script for yet another broadway version.
(Those BWW boards really get on my nerves. If Frank had a penny for every drop of poison spilled in that board against him he would be the richest man in the World by now...)

Yeah, those boards are insane.

A short broadway revival would be nice like RAGTIME had recently. I don't think Jekyll & Hyde would have too much long-term success again, but it would get people interested in the show and (possibly) get talks of a movie back in the works.
I'd personally love to see Hugh Jackman in the lead role in a film version. He's one of the few major hollywood actors that would be able to sing the role without massive editing (like Johnny Depp in Sweeney Todd...).

I agree. I think any long term success would probably depend on the quality of the production. With the right script, cast, and staging, the show could be really popular.
