If you look under "About" it now says it will be released Fall/Winter 2009 here and abroad, but nothing more. To my knowledge it's pretty much going to be the demos consisting of either Lauren Kennedy or Brandi Burkhardt as Alice, with Rob Evan or Ryan Silverman as the White Knight, and then Snelson recorded the Mad Hatter songs and most the workshop people recorded stuff.

Yes: El Gato = Cheshire Cat; I believe they cut his old song and he has a new one now.

Also looks like this one is set for the road - Look at the email section, "Tour dates"...Bummer!

Yeah I was asking for news ;) That was announced way back. The World release was marked for Fall/Winter. But nothing else was said.
The plans where to record it with MWB in Vienna...so I HOPE they won't release the concept based on demos. 'cause the demos are normaly filled with synth music and that won't do much for the music. In Vienna they can get the amazing Operettszinház Budapest Orchestra...

It's possible they may just re-do the orchestrations. I doubt that they'd get new singers to record it since it doens't look like it's going to Broadway right away (looks like a Tour will be announced soon!).

The way the demos were done, they take the music and then they sing on top of it, and each singer has a different track on top of it. So it's easy for Frank/magic team to "erase" someone's voice and put in another, etc.

The demos are surprisingly fine quality, the same as the DRACULA, the musical demo. Or atleast the one's I've heard.
