Book writer has been added - Gregory Boyd, surprise, surprise with Murphy. (and Pink text...ohhhh)
http://wonderlandthemusical.org/index.htmlAlso - the video preivew is slightly different, visually!
http://wonderlandthemusical.org/wonderland_video_large.htmlAnd BRANDI BURKHARDT is now in Through the Looking Glass AND the Finding Wonderland clips. So long Lauren Kennedy :(. Maybe this will mean Brandi has SOMEHOW gotten the role!

They're just demo recordings that Brandi has done A LOT of for Frank, so I don't think there's some deeper meaning. The clips also sound the same to me as they did before...

They 100% are changed, from Kennedy to Burkhardt (Someone ripped the audio for me from the last ones). I figured there was a chance that it could be as dumb as that one...but it seems bizarre to just decide to change them from Kennedy's. (Unless her not doing Wonderland is an ugly situation, perhaps)
Maybe they realized Brandi's diction is much better in Finding Wonderland, where I had no clue what the lyrics were when Kennedy sang them. Just saying - the clips aren't too flattering to many people, maybe the best thing would be to take them down. I love them - but a lot of people on other Broadway message boards DO NOT and already judging the show!

Yeah, but those people annoy me, no offense. They rave on about Sondheim being some kind of god when I have always been brought up to believe that there is no such thing as god in musical theatre just variety. Personally, I have enjoyed more Wildhorn scores than Sondheim and I equally enjoy "The Scarlet Pimpernel", "Sweeney Todd", "Into the Woods" and "Camille Claudel". I don't have a problem with what I've heard from "Wonderland" so far.
What I have a problem with is the idea they're going to change it to something Latino? They're already doing a Latino show with "Havana" and it doesn't work for the story? It seems a bit shoehorned in?
I actually quite like what I've heard, "The Caterpillar's Song" which sounds like it could be a cool standard in a few years time, "The Mad Hatter's Song" which is very catchy, and "Once More I Can See" which is one of my favourite Wildhorn songs. I definitely wish I could fly over to Tampa Bay or Houston to see the productions, if only to hear the full "Finding Wonderland" which I like as much as "This is the Moment". Would I do that for Sondheim's latest? Not if it's anything like "Bounce".

Oh trust me - same boat with Sondheim here.
I'll actually be in Tampa over Christmas (we alternate years with the family - this years their year!) and just booked my tickets believe it or not. Hard to believe I won't be seeing it for 4 months though :o ! I love all the songs I've heard from it. Everything so far! (Although plenty of the lyrics are very bizarre/not really that good, but we can thank Jack Murphy for that one instead).
I am also nervous about the whole Latina thing. The story had a .. reason sort of as to why it would happen. The great-grandaughter of either Alice or the writer is now a struggling writer and needs to go BACK to Wonderland .. if it's Latina, will the same premice survive? I know plenty of people have been calling people "racist" for the concerns over this, but fairy tale or not, I think it's best to stick to expectations, and they're already changed her into adult.
BTW - Havana isn't necessarily going to be full-out Latina. From what I've heard, it's about a "North American woman" (yes, quote) who inherits a club in 1959 in Havana, Cuba right before Fidel Castro's reign - althouh I don't know if he has any importance to the story. Get this! The person who did the last reading was JILL PAICE. I love Jill Paice. I'd love her to do it!!!!!! (Although she doesn't seem to necessarily be anywhere on the same vocal chops as Eder at all!)
