So, I believe there has been some talk lately about a confirmed, planned Jekyll & Hyde movie by several studios, both the one that holds the rights to the musical and Universal. Just in case anyone was like WTF? Has it switched studios? What's this new movie, and will it be the musical? (I know I was)

Apparently Keanu Reeves is set to star in a 'modern re-telling of the classic story'. So, not the musical. And thank whatever powers that might be, 'cause... I'm not looking forward to seeing Keanu attempt one personality, let alone two, even in a non-musical version.

It'll probably derail the development (if any's even being made) of the musical version for a bit, and, you know, take away the awesome Victorian charm of the original story, but... anyway, sorry this didn't have more to do with the musical version.

Del Toro is meant to be working on a version as well (At first I thought it was the musical. Imagine that! All I care about is that they don't rush the movie or make some sort of agreement that would hinder the show's power. This is what I felt they did with "Phantom".
