Title: Wonderland - Qs!

philly0330 - April 24, 2009 02:20 AM (GMT)
Has any of the music been *released*/demo-d yet for Wonderland? Anyone know where to find the full version of "Finding Wonderland" either?!

Feel free to PM me to answer that...! :ph43r:

Also:
I'm totally clueless about the story except the general idea of it..

Is Frank's version about Alice now-grown up, now with a daughter, and the White Knight her romantic male lead? Is he the one also singing in "Through the Looking Glass"!?

What is going to be the Act 1 Finale "event" if anyone knows!?!!

So many questions...

No music was officialy released yet but you can hear a couple of songs from a Demo in Jack Murphy's official website ;)
However a Concept Recording is in the works at MWB/HitSquad Records in Vienna and it's expected to be released in summer in the USA and Autumn/Winter worldwide.

As for details about the project, I sugest you to go to the official webpage. If it's not there, there's no more info out ;)

It's great to see all of these concept recordings for Frank's shows hitting the market. They generally are higher quality than demos and are available to the public. This particular concept recording should let me know if the show is worth driving down to Florida to see the premiere production. I have high hopoes. I don't see it being Frank's huge U.S. comeback, but it's definitely a start. Jekyll & Hyde still has a large regional/community theatre following, but most of his other shows have gone unnoticed to the U.S. theatre community. I hope that licensing for Dracula will become more freely available in the next few years now that the show has evolved a great deal. It's the first of his shows in a long time that finally feels like it's reaching "completion." Most of his other projects seem too fragmented and still in need of major changes. Even after two major productions of Rudolf, it still doesn't feel like a finished work to me.

I'm also looking forward to a concept recording before thinking about going down to florida, though I might just go because I can't imagine how bad i'd feel if i had missed Waiting for the Moon at lenape and I don't want that to happen with this

However, with that being said - the clips on frank's site are highly dissapointing and it might just be the low quality of them, but lauren kennedy sounds god awful in "finding wonderland"; wish he didn't blow it with Linda + Brandi + Kate

I must have missed something! What exactly happened with Kate Shindle & Wildhorn?!

Ditto about Kennedy - I actually don't think she sounds that bad, but I just keep thinking of how much better Brandi or Linda would sound in it. I actually really like the songs on the website thus far!!! I've heard it's Tracy Miller or Brandi Burkhardt singing the Mad Hatter one -- anyone know who that one is?!

Someone said Linda's song "Anything Can Happen" is supposed to be / was at one point intended for the show - true or false? That's one of the few Linda CDs I actually don't have a physical copy of, so I can't check th linear notes or anything.

well i dont think he particularly did anything to Kate, but shes to be completely seperating herself from him. Doing legally blonde on broadway(what a waste, honestly), and now shes going around doing a solo tour. I'd say its just the fact that he spends so much time overseas she probably wants to get away from him

"Anything Can Happen" was indeed attached to the show (it's listed in the liner notes as "From Alice"). I don't know if this is still the case.

As for what the story will be like, etc, not a lot has been said yet (there's the one paragraph blurb on Frank's site which came from the press releases, and that's about it). We won't really know fully until we see it on stage.

Nothing at all happened between Frank and Kate Shindle. They made some good music together, but never had any kind of personal/romantic relationship.

If the casting rumors are true, I'll be excited to hear her on his music again; she really does sing his songs very well!
