I just saw the news on Footlight's website today, they will be closing down before the end of the month. If you've been holding off on ordering something from them (or any import recording), now is the time to get that order in. They have things on sale.

To my knowledge, they only said it once before, something like a year or two ago. The announcement prompted a surge in sales, and they figured out a way to stay open - closing their physical storefront, going online only, and carrying most CDs only for the first few months after they were released. Now they say that they still can't stay open. I was so relieved when the first stay of execution happened, but I really don't think it will happen again. I hope I'm wrong... but the way the economy is today, I know it's a "fanciful hope", not very grounded.
